• THE OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

OVERVIEW

The Office of the Executive Director provides organized staff services to the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness and the Deputy Under Secretary to execute their management functions and facilitate their responsibilities for formulating, coordinating, and communicating major policy decisions. Serves as the primary focal point for the Under Secretary to ensure synchronization and integration of matters spanning the entirety of the P&R enterprise. The Office of the Executive Director is comprised of:

Resource & Program Integration

Enterprise-wide resource manager and Program/Budget formulation.
  • Enterprise-wide resource manager and Program/Budget formulation.

  • Legislative/Congressional Affairs.

  • ExecSec and Correspondence Control Office / GAO, IG, and FOIA Hotlines.

  • Studies, Analysis, and Decision Support (Senior governance forums, FFRDC studies).

  • Strategic Initiatives Group (Strategic Planning, Assessments, & Messaging/Engagements).

  • Management and oversight of all P&R issuances and policies.

  • Continuity of Operations and Crisis Management.

 

Management Support Office

  • Support and execute P&R’s civilian/military human resources and manpower management

  • Provide facilities management, IT, and logistics support to OUSD(P&R) enterprise

  • P&R security (physical and SCIF, personnel and clearances, information, IT) management

  • Group Federal Officer – 14 Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) committees

 

Office of Legal Policy

  • Principal advisor on broad range of policy matters impacting DoD, service members, and military families

 

Reserve Forces Policy Board

  • Provides advice and recommendations to enhance the capabilities, efficiency, and effectiveness of the reserve components
