About Us

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Integration coordinates Reserve Component issues across the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, as well as the entire Department of Defense. This office serves as the representative and liaison for the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Naval Reserve, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve.

Specific Reserve Component policies and programs include:

• National Guard Youth Challenge
• Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
• Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program
• Innovative Readiness Training
• International Reserve Component programs
• TRICARE Retired Reserve policy
• Medical programs
• Full-Time Support policy

Reserve Integration works to ensure seamless incorporation of Reserve Component policy across the Department of Defense and provide strategic engagement on all Reserve Component matters. The office regularly works in cooperation with the Reserve Forces Policy Board, the Reserve Component Chiefs and the Council of Governors for this purpose.
