Military Reserve Exchange Program (MREP)

Program Background

The primary purpose of the Department of Defense Military Reserve Exchange Program (MREP) is to provide National Guard and Reserve Participants training associated with mobilization duties while enhancing their ability to work and communicate with military individuals of the host nation.  As an opportunity for Professional Development, Reserve Component officers and enlisted members complete their annual training serving in a duty assignment similar to their wartime assignment while gaining the understanding of the training, doctrine, and operations of NATO alliance partners.  Dodi 1215.15 dated July 3, 2014 provides authority for the program.

Foreign Residency Program (FRP)

The FRP is different from the MREP program and is currently being revised.  More to follow as this program continues to be developed.
