Facilities Directorate

Facilities Deputate Mission: The Facilities Directorate serves as the advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Readiness Programming and Resources), with specific responsibility for exercising policy and overall supervision of Reserve Component (RC) construction and facilities.




  • Responsible for developing DoD facility policies which support and promote joint construction requirements per U.S.C. Title 10
  • RC Military Construction (MILCON
  • RC Facility Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (S/RM)
  • Policy and oversight responsibility for over $427 million in RC MILCON, $1.1 billion in RC Facility S/RM, $2.3 billion in RC Base Operating Support (BOS), and $148 million in RC environmental programs
  • Policy and oversight responsibility for an $86 billion RC facilities inventory, which includes over 42,400 facilities at over 4,900 locations
  • Participates as a member of OSD working groups for RC facilities, environment, and energy considerations
