Glenn Garrison
Director of Morale, Welfare and Recreation and Resale Policy
Glenn Garrison assumed the duties of director of Morale, Welfare and Recreation and Resale Policy within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy in December 2023. As director, Mr. Garrison is responsible for the policy and management oversight of Defense Department MWR, commissaries, exchanges and lodging programs in addition to a broad range of quality-of-life programs and services addressing the needs and challenges of service members and their families.
Prior to assuming the duties of director, Mr. Garrison served as the associate director for Business Policy in MWR and Resale Policy since February 2022.
Mr. Garrison has extensive experience leading numerous morale, welfare and recreation, resale and other installation support organizations.
Mr. Garrison is an Army spouse with more than 33 years of Department of Defense civilian service. During his career, he has held leadership positions with the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Department of the Air Force. Mr. Garrison successfully completed numerous assignments, both in the United States and overseas, including serving for more than six years in Panama and Germany. He served in director-level positions at installation, major command and service headquarters with responsibilities directing, managing and overseeing a wide range of installation support operations, morale, welfare and recreation, and resale programs.
Mr. Garrison has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Texas Christian University, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Arizona. Mr. Garrison’s professional military education includes Air Command and Staff College and Air War College.
