Mr. Jeffrey R. Mayo (Jeff) assumed the duties of Director, Accession Policy on December 17, 2012.
A member of the Senior Executive Service, he is responsible for policy, planning, and program review of Active and Reserve recruiting and accessions. Additionally, he is responsible for standards and policies related to enlistment and officer commissioning across the Department.
Mr. Mayo graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. He also earned a Master of Business Administration Degree from Saint Edwardâ€™s University and a Master of Science Degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University.
His career encompasses 30 years of service with the Air Force, Department of Defense, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization primarily in manpower and personnel assignments. He has commanded manpower detachments, a mission support squadron, and a mission support group. He also served as the vice commander of the 66th Air Base Wing at Hanscom AFB, MA. Most recently, Mr. Mayo served on the Air Staff as a division chief responsible for organizational restructuring across the Air Force as well as managing the $1.4B Reserve Component manday program.
His awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (w/OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal (w/3 OLC).
