The Honorable Ronald T. Keohane, after confirmation by the U.S. Senate, assumed the role of the 3rd Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs. In this capacity, Mr. Keohane serves as the principal advisor to both the Secretary of Defense and the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. His responsibilities encompass a wide range of matters, including Civilian and Military Personnel Policies, Reserve Integration, Military Community and Family Policy, and Total Force Planning and Requirements. Additionally, he provides day-to-day oversight for the Department of Defense Education Activity and the Defense Commissary Agency.

Before his confirmation, Mr. Keohane held the position of Managing Partner at Blue Rose Consulting Group Inc., a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business and certified HUBZone company based in the Washington, DC area.

During the Obama Administration Mr. Keohane served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy. In this role, he supervised and advocated for programs, policies, planning and resource allocation related to the quality of life of service members and their families worldwide.

Mr. Keohane holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.
